Stationary Engineer Apprenticeship

What Is A Stationary Engineer?
Responsibility for the operation and maintenance of various facilities i.e., buildings, hospitals, hotels, dairies, bakeries water/wastewater treatment facilities, correctional facilities and maintenance of H.V.A.C., Life Safety Systems, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • An applicant must be 18 years of age at date of application - no maximum.
  • Applicant must have a high school diploma, State Proficiency Certificate or G.E.D. equivalent.

Benefits
Our program is jointly sponsored by various participating Employers and I.U.O.E. Stationary Engineer Union. Benefits are as per the contract with the individual Employer. Health & Welfare plans provide a choice of comprehensive health coverage. in addition to pension, sick leave, vacation, etc.

Program
Forty (40) hours per week, a minimum of 8000 hours/four (4) years of on-the-job experience. Classroom supplemental related training two nights a week for 3 hours per night and 670 class hours (minimum) of related training. Passing grade in eight subjects as outlined in the Apprenticeship Standards.
